ASCENSION DAY 2009 AT ASCENSION

The Church of the Ascension in Seneca, SC honored our risen Lord Jesus at a very special service this year.  The Right Reverend Dorsey Henderson presided at the Institution of The Reverend Carol Ann (Deedie) Phillips Marshall as Ascension’s new Rector.  After enthusiastically welcoming Deedie The Reverend Dr Nicholas Beasley assured us that with her leadership and our partnership, Ascension would proceed strongly in its mission: We are Disciples of Christ called to serve neighbors near and far. 

Gena Sykes led the Procession with her bagpipe.  The Choir was augmented with many area Choir representatives and supported by tenor Jorge Yanez-Lopez and trumpeter Travis Tegen.  Many Clergy participated in the Service including The Reverend Canon Michael Bullock and The Reverend Canon Sue von Rautenkranz.  The Ascension Episcopal Church Women prepared an exceptional reception following the Service.
