Ascension’s Mission Statement
“DISCIPLES OF CHRIST CALLED TO SERVE NEIGHBORS NEAR AND FAR”

Greetings and a warm welcome to all.

Happy Lent everyone!
In keeping with our Lenten disciplines and theme, we begin our liturgy today with the Penitential Order. This opening consists of the Decalogue and the Confession with the Absolution. We continue this practice until the 5th Sunday in Lent.. I believe that when faithful to a solemn observance of Lent, we are then able to fully appreciate the joy of our Lord’s victory over death in the Resurrection on Easter Sunday.

Please continue to note our special offerings during Lent. On April 1, Maundy Thursday, we will offer to all a Seder Meal in the Parish Hall beginning at 6 PM. This is the Passover meal which Christ chose to institute the new meal of salvation and redemption.

“Christians can celebrate this Seder to share a common ancestry with our Jewish brothers and sisters, and in memory of the meal that Jesus celebrated with his apostles.”(from the Seder bulletin by the Rev’d Howard Maltby). The Seder will be a full course meal with lamb. In order for us to prepare enough food, please write your name on the sign up sheet in the foyer.
